Policies and Procedures
Although many small businesses may not have the time or resources
to develop employment policies and procedures, having some appropriate procedures
in place may help to minimize your exposure to an employment liability suit. The
following links provide some sample policies, procedures and forms that may be helpful
in the absence of other employment policies and procedures. These can help you communicate
your personnel policies and employment best practices to your employees. These also
can be used either individually or included as components of a more extensive employee
handbook.
PLEASE NOTE - These documents are guidelines. Since laws vary from state
to state, it's best to consult with your legal counsel to tailor the policies and
forms to your particular situation. Many forms require you to insert designated
names and numbers and other information. These appear in brackets throughout the
documents.
